Hello!Schoten takes place every year during the second week of July. Six till nine excellent foreign dance groups show us their cultural traditions through music and dance, in front of 20-25.000 spectators. The historical castle of Schoten and its surroundings act as the decor of this dance festival, uniting different cultures.
One of the oldest folk festivals in Europe
In 1959 members of a folk group and the local Tourist Association founded the “Wereldfestival van Folklore” in Schoten. The target was, and still is, to promote folk art and culture and bring them closer together by showing them to a broad public.
Quality amateur festival
It is an amateur festival, that’s why it is meant for non-professional folk groups in the first place. They have a high artistic level and bring forward their folk in dance and music.
